Phase transitions in discrete structures
Random discrete structures such as random graphs or matrices play an important role in several disciplines, including combinatorics, coding theory, computational complexity theory, and the theory of algorithms. Over the past about 20 years, non-rigorous techniques from statistical mechanics have been adapted for/applied to many of these problems. The monographs [3, 4, 8] provide an overview of ...
متن کاملPhase transition phenomena in random discrete structures
A random discrete structure is a combinatorial object, which emerges as a result of a series of random experiments; equivalently, it can be viewed as a probability space whose elements are combinatorial structures as graphs, hypergraphs, permutations etc. In many of random discrete structures a small change of parameters of the model can greatly affect its (typical) behaviour. One of the semina...
متن کاملFuzzy retrieval of encrypted data by multi-purpose data-structures
The growing amount of information that has arisen from emerging technologies has caused organizations to face challenges in maintaining and managing their information. Expanding hardware, human resources, outsourcing data management, and maintenance an external organization in the form of cloud storage services, are two common approaches to overcome these challenges; The first approach costs of...
متن کاملDiscrete phase-space structures and Wigner functions for N qubits
We further elaborate on a phase-space picture for a system of N qubits and explore the structures compatible with the notion of unbiasedness. These consist of bundles of discrete curves satisfying certain additional properties and different entanglement properties. We discuss the construction of discrete covariant Wigner functions for these bundles and provide several illuminating examples.
متن کاملModeling Musical Structures as EventGenerators
There is a broad range of music description languages. The common terms for describing musical structures define a vocabulary that every musician learns as part of his or her training. The terms we take for granted in describing music can be used for building generative software description languages. This paper describes recent work modeling higher-level musical structures in terms of objects ...
